Alvin Gilmore is an experienced educator who received his B.A. in Psychology from University of California, Los Angeles and went on to complete a M.S. in Counseling Education at University of Southern California. In addition to being a classroom educator, Alvin has worked with youth as a counselor, coach, and an advocate. Alvin has worked extensively with both adults and young people in the areas of cultural competency and diversity with the goal of fostering positive identity development.
In addition to being a seasoned educator, Alvin has completed his license as a marriage and family therapist. His passion for working with teens, parents, and families in therapeutic and educational settings reflects his belief that tending to the inner well-being as well as the intellect of young people can lead to a balanced and healthy life and a true valuing of the self.
